SXM Ministry of Education provides you with
Financing
- A one-way ticket to the Netherlands upon being accepted and approved for study financing
- Hotel accommodation upon arrival in city of study for maximum 2 days, if necessary
- Transportation from airport to city of study
- August/September allowance for MBO and HBO/WO students
- Medical Insurance coverage
- € 400,- re-settling allowance and € 800,- for the purchase of a computer
- Book Money - A yearly contribution toward book fees
- A return ticket upon successful completion of studies
- Financial contribution of €500 towards a vacation ticket for high performers, if you meet the necessary requirements
- A ticket to carry out your internship on St. Maarten, conditions apply.
- These funds are partly grant and loan. The loan will have to be repaid with interest upon completion of your studies. The re-settling allowance of €400 should be used to furnish your room with the basic necessities, such as a bed, closet, desk, chair and a lamp, if your room is not already furnished. This amount will be deposited before you leave for the Netherlands on a student bank account at the Windward Islands Bank on St. Maarten. In order to receive the computer loan, you must submit a request and a pro forma invoice (offerte) from the company you plan to buy your computer from. Once you buy the computer with the funds you must submit the receipt as soon as possible.
